Founder & Coach

Academy Founder and Director Travis Howser is a PGA professional who has taught golf for over 10 years. Travis has coached golf all over the world including five years in Shanghai, China speaking both English and Mandarin Chinese. 我会说中文. Travis has two young boys growing up in the game of golf and is on a mission to developing lifelong experiences through golf.

Coaching Philosophy:

Travis helps players of all ages, skills and abilities. His coaching philosophy is to help students with the three most important fundamentals of the game. 1. Being able to control where the club hits the ground. 2. Being able to control the direction the ball flies and its curvature. 3. Being able to hit the ball far enough to play on the golf course. He has coaching certifications that cover all areas of the game from putting, wedge play, full swing, mental game, and tactical course play.

“I go to the driving range at Rancho Carlsbad a good amount, and occasionally get an opportunity to see one of the Raising Golfers Golf Academy classes. After seeing coach Travis’s enthusiasm and passion, along with how excited all the kids are in every class, I soon started bringing my 3 year old to the Saturday toddler classes. He is so excited every time we go. He starts off a little shy as soon as we get there, but quickly warms up and doesn’t want to leave at the end. I never thought I would have a preschooler learning golf, but that’s how fun and exciting Coach Travis makes these classes.

Side note: I started doing adult lessons with Coach Travis. I started playing a year and half ago and when I first signed up with him back in April, it would be a good day if I broke 100. Now in December I’m in the low 80’s.”
